Nurture and Protect Initiative is a community-led Nigerian nonprofit working to protect children and strengthen families in conflict-affected communities of North-East Nigeria.
Child Protection
We keep children safe, prevent harm, offer care, and link at-risk families to trusted local child protection support.
Safe Learning
We help children learn through catch-up lessons, reading help, trained teachers, and safe routes back into school again.
Nutrition Support
We screen children for poor nutrition, guide caregivers on feeding, and refer urgent cases for safe treatment and care.
Clean Water Access
We promote hygiene, safe water, and sanitation while helping families prevent cholera and other diseases in their homes.
Community Voice
We let communities shape plans, give safe feedback, and build local systems that protect children beyond each project.
Strong Governance
We use clear leadership, strong safeguards, sound controls, and open systems to earn lasting community and donor trust.

Who we are
Nurture and Protect Initiative is a community-led Nigerian nonprofit in Maiduguri, protecting children and supporting families across conflict-affected North-East communities through locally informed, evidence-based, culturally responsive humanitarian action and partnership.
Our Vision
A North-East Nigeria in which every child — whatever their circumstances — is safe from harm, able to learn, healthy, and able to look to the future with hope.
Our Mission
To protect children from violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect, and to restore their access to education, nutrition and essential services in conflict-affected communities — working in genuine partnership with those communities, and alongside the wider humanitarian system, to build lasting local capacity to care for and protect children.
